Building works now cause 18% of UK large particle pollution, says report
UK policy makers are being urged to tighten regulations after a report showing that the construction industry is second only to road transport for large particle pollution.
As reported in media outlets including The Guardian , Impact on Urban Health (IoUH) and the Centre for Low Emission Construction say building works are now responsible for 18% of UK large particle pollution, rising to 30% in London.
And concerned construction workers agree, with 97% of those surveyed calling air quality an ‘extremely or very important’ environmental health concern.
